Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Kitchen Opens Its First Eat-in Restaurant in San Diego

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Kitchen is finally giving customers a reason to put down the delivery app and take a seat. The wellness-focused food brand opened its first full-service dine-in restaurant on August 31, 2026, at One Paseo in San Diego. The opening marks a major change for a business built around delivery and takeout.

Goop Kitchen launched in 2021 with a digital-first approach to restaurant food. Customers ordered online, then picked up their meals or had them delivered. Five years later, the company is testing something much more traditional: A restaurant where people can sit, eat, talk, and stay for a while.

Goop Kitchen Is Finally Putting Seats at the Table

Paltrow / IG / The new Goop Kitchen sits at 3725 Paseo Place inside One Paseo, a 24-acre shopping and residential complex in San Diego’s Carmel Valley area.

Unlike the brand’s earlier locations, this restaurant was designed around an indoor and outdoor dining experience.

There is plenty of room for customers to settle in. The flagship has 92 seats and gives Goop Kitchen a physical presence that its delivery-focused locations never had. It is a notable shift for a company that spent its first five years largely sending food out the door in bags and containers.

The restaurant itself reflects the polished style associated with Paltrow’s Goop brand. Michael Hsu Office of Architecture designed the space with marble details, walnut booths, reeded glass, plants, and an outdoor patio. The idea is less clinical wellness café and more stylish neighborhood restaurant.

Paltrow was closely involved with the design. The restaurant draws inspiration from classic New York brasseries and Parisian interiors while keeping the setting relaxed enough for Southern California. It gives Goop Kitchen a chance to sell an experience alongside its food.

The Goop Kitchen Menu Sticks to Its Clean Food Rules

Paltrow / IG / The menu remains firmly tied to the food standards that built Goop Kitchen’s identity. The company says its entire menu is made without gluten, seed oils, processed additives, refined sugars, or corn.

That approach extends across salads, bowls, handhelds, rotisserie dishes, pizza, and pasta.

Goop Kitchen also says its culinary team has ‘Michelin-level experience’ and works with carefully sourced ingredients. Organic and local produce is used when possible, while the chicken is organic and free-range. Its salmon comes from Norway and carries several aquaculture certifications.

Some familiar favorites have made the move to San Diego. The menu includes dishes such as the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and Pepperoni Potts Pizza. The dine-in restaurant also introduces new choices, including Field of Greens Pizza and the Strawberry-Goji Berry Palmer.

Those dishes show how Goop Kitchen approaches healthy eating. Instead of building a menu around plain vegetables and stripped-down meals, the company takes recognizable comfort foods and changes the ingredients. Pizza can still be pizza, but it has to meet Goop Kitchen’s ingredient standards.

That ingredient policy gives the chain a clear identity in a crowded fast-casual market. It also helps explain why Goop Kitchen tends to sit at the premium end of lunch and dinner choices. Higher-cost ingredients and wellness branding are part of the product rather than background details.

The company has already developed a following around individual menu items. Its own customer testimonials repeatedly call out the Brentwood Chinese Chicken Salad, while bowls, salads, and other made-to-order meals have helped establish the brand beyond its famous founder.

Paltrow’s name still gives the company instant attention, of course. Yet a restaurant cannot survive on celebrity recognition alone. The San Diego location will have to convince customers that the food, service, setting, and prices make sense after the novelty of the opening wears off.
